So one of the things I really like about Tony and Carol’s friendship is how mutual their support of one another is. Obviously Tony helped Carol recognize and handle her alcoholism, but she’s just as ready to help him when he’s down and out of the fight. They don’t always make the best decisions together (see: Civil War), but she’s got his back and he’s got hers.
Carol: Tony, about my drinking — about…what happened. I tried to hate you for what you did. I wanted to. But I couldn’t. And not just because you were doing the right thing. It’s like — like today. Seeing you fighting, beyond your limits but never quitting — it’s hard to label you as petty or vindictive after that. I know you were trying to help me. And I apologize for lashing out. And what’s more — I know you can beat this. You’re strong enough to do anything.
Tony: A regular Iron Man, that’s me. But how are you doing?
Carol: Managing. I have a problem, I know that. But I can lick it — I’m pretty strong, too. And hey, when you’re back in town —
